Son of an Irish immigrant, Alfred O'Meara Sr. begins
work at Ford Motor Company as employee #138


1913
Al O'Meara moves to Colorado to fight tuberculosis
and Henry Ford names him the first CO Ford dealer,
at 15th & Cleveland Place. A Model T sells for $550,
we take horses on trade and teach buyers to drive.
1916
We survive the Spanish Flu, and the dealership is
moved to 14th and Broadway


1938
When his father's health fails, Al O'Meara Jr. leaves
Notre Dame to run the dealership at only 22
1941
After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Al mortgages his
house to buy a lathe and every new or used part he
can find. Service and parts carry us through WWII


1943
Rumor has it, O'Meara sells just 6 new cars this year,
as Henry Ford stops car production to make
airplanes for the war
1953
In order that the City of Denver could build a library,
O'Meara is moved to Colfax Ave


1960
Denver Broncos get a rough start in Denver, owners
plead to area business to help, we buy 100 season
tickets
1968
Dealership moves again to its current location at I25
& 104th


1974
Al Jr.'s son, Brian O'Meara is named General Manager
1976
Our spokesperson, Bonnie Murray-O'Meara, an Army
veteran, joins the team, and later, the family


1976
Alfred O'Meara was named "Time Magazine Quality
Dealer "
2003
Dealership is remodeled to create a 100,000 sq ft,
$15 million-dollar, state of the art facility



2013
The O'Meara's purchase O'Meara Volkswagen, also
on 104th
2018
O'Meara Buick GMC is added to the O'Meara family
of dealership.


2018
'Warbirds Over the Rockies', a 20 yr model airplane
event run by Brian, raises more than $250,000 for
Colorado Mental Health
2020
We use everything we learned from Grandpa Al to
fortify pre-owned sales and the service and parts
business through the Covid pandemic


2021
Al O'Meara Jr is inducted into inaugural class of the
Colorado Auto Dealers Association Hall of Fame
2022
